BASIC SAFETY RULES ARE VERY IMPORTANT
- Treat guns as they are always loaded.
- Never allow your muzzle to cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
- In the hunting field, have your gun loaded with safety on and muzzle pointed up at least 45 degrees from the ground.
- To travel in a vehicle, the gun must be completely unloaded with the breech open. Vertically insert a shell into the breech of an automatic to hold it open.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until the sights are on the target.
- Always be sure of your target, what’s behind it, what’s near it.
- Do not fire at game if your shot will in anyway endanger humans, dogs or livestock.
- Remember “A low bird is no bird” or see “Blue sky” under any bird you attempt to harvest.
- Always wear eye and ear protection.
- Armed men should always be considerate of each other.
- New members of a hunting party must be sponsored by an experienced member to participate.
